About The Director
Susie Yankou is a Toronto-born, LA-based writer/director. She is the founder of Good Pop Films, her production banner specializing in queer, comedic stories that balance her irreverent, referential humour with an undeniable sense of heart. Yankou recently developed a teen comedy with Emma Roberts’ Belletrist TV, alongside showrunner Marlene King (Pretty Little Liars). She previously wrote, directed, and starred in her web series 101 Ways to Get Rejected, which was then developed for TV for Moonshot Entertainment with EP Bryan Cranston.
Her debut feature, Sisters, recently premiered at Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival, the largest queer film festival in Canada. In addition to her film & TV projects, she has written, directed, and produced multiple music videos for clients like Atlantic Records and Page 1 Management. She is an alumni of USC’s Writing for the Screen & Television program.
